“Schauen wir zur?ck nach Berlin. Bewusst in der Vergangenheit formuliert, da ich Atari Teenage Riot nicht mehr mit derselben Wucht als aktiv empfinde wie Die Goldenen Zitronen.

Was dem Respekt f?r sie und ihre Haltung und ihre Musik aber keinen Abbruch tut. Die Form, f?r die sich Alec Empire, Hanin Elias, Carl Crack und die sp?ter hinzugesto?ene Nic Endo entschieden hatten, dieses so unglaublich intensive, explosive Gebr?u, das sie selbst als Digital Hardcore bezeichneten, konnte nur mit voller Wucht gegen die Wand gefahren werden; der Blick auf die Soloprojekte, der auf der DVD get?tigt wird, zeigt aber auch bei ihnen die Offenheit und F?higkeit, den Stil zu modifizieren, nur zuletzt eben nicht mehr mit dieser Stilsicherheit und Intensit?t der ersten Jahre.

W?hrend die Zitronen wichtige Worte sprachen und in den Wohlfahrtsaussch?ssen den Diskurs suchten, sprangen ATR kompromisslos auf LKWs und riefen zur “Revolution Action” auf, zur Zerst?rung der Kultur der letzten 2000 Jahre, lieferten den Soundtrack zum “Riot”, zu den Berliner 1.-Mai-Protesten, mit ordentlich “Speed” im Blut, “Sick To Death” und immerzu united mit den Kids.

Mehr Slogans geht nicht. Mehr Energie auch nicht. Ein Wirbelsturm tobte damals ?ber Deutschland mit Alec Empire als Role-Model. Heute haben wir stattdessen Ed Banger – blo? dass denen die Inhalte abgehen.”

Press reports about 100 arrests. Punks , who couldn’t get into the sold out event, clashed with police forces.

Film features music by Alec Empire , who also included his remix of German punk classic “Bullenschweine” by legendary Band Slime.

(Chaosdays…Yes, it’s a story which is based on the riots in Hannover in the mid 90ties.
Atari Teenage Riot did also once play there.)

Many great German actors are involved….Stipe Erceg, Claude Oliver Rudolph, Martin Semmelrogge,
Henriette M?ller, Ralf Richter, Rolf Zacher, Helge Schneider and many more…

Alec Empire: “It is a rare thing that film people in Germany take the risk with a project like this.
They have a real punk approach, full of enthusiasm, besides the obvious punk songs with

their historic reference I am writing music for all the other scenes…
The dark sides of the characters and so on.
This gave us the rare opportunity to blend from my punk roots into the more abstract electronic sounds,
I am known for…”

This film will be out in spring 2009!
