As for Godzilla I am into the movies so very much, they are my favorite and captured my imagination as a child introducing me to sound effects, noise, strange sounds, destruction, etc. my prized godzilla dvd’s are right next to all the other discs I hold close to my heart, if I had one.
Some more cool movies are the hammer Dracula series with Christopher Lee, David Cronenberg films, George A. Romero films, Ridley Scott films, John Carpenter films- The Thing though from Carpenter is right there with my Godzilla movies, I love the sense of isolation of The Thing and the snow and blood and visuals and everything…when I watch LOW ON ICE video I think of that film maybe becuase Mac is low on ice at the beginning of the film and of course the dog running in the snow filmed from a helicopter…and the characters MAC and WINDOWS really boggles your mind when you watch it in 2009.
Any way I am counting the days till I get my ALEC EMPIRE SHIVERS disc.
I’ve fought many times with those “Whitehouse is harder” kind of idiots. They really don’t understand the point of music/sound-art if all they like is “hard” stuff. Hard is a state of mind anyhow.
I’ve been listening to the newest Cynic album “Traced In Air” alot. Seems good for spring.
