RON ASHTON OF THE STOOGES DIES
RON ASHTON OF THE STOOGES DIES
No need to say how influential his riffs were over all the years!
Very often the focus is mostly on Iggy, but the guitars were equally important to the vocals.
So many other sites will write enough about this, so we don’t repeat what they are already saying, but we want to raise a theory: Was his sound probably the only guitar sound which inspired so many electronic musicians?
We can easily build a bridge from early 70ties Stooges to Suicide and then into anything good electro these days.
let us know what you think!

Stooges rule(d)
didn’t understand why Iggy Pop did this horrible music with Sum 41 and Peaches
this was way out of line
first and second album are amazing though.

I see what you’re saying but I ever got too much into rock. Can see the influence though. But I still prefer a good old synth thru a fuzz box
saw Stooges live i think 2 years ago and it was not that good but I imagine that it was great in the early years
the video is a classic
still respect to Ron!

Sometimes we lose somebody…but then we need to find that we are not alone…we should try to find that…cause it is hard to open sometimes…because we are all more or less complicated…but if I have a friend…I try to be together…at least I try to trust.
There are situations one person cannot stand alone…
That is why I think that if I lost someone…and I had such situation in my life…I need…everyone needs to look for support.
If someone dies…it’s hard to stand…but we need to stay!
Together!

I know that people who lose someone very close to them…need to be mature to find inner peace…It’s not easy to explain to a child why Dad died. It’s not easy to a child to stand it.
But it’s easier to mature person to go forward…in any constructive way…

Sometimes we cry even after death of someone faraway…but who is important to us…I think it’s a kind of sensitivity for people and life and for everything what happens…

I can’t find the right words to say about this. He will be loved and missed, for sure, and his music will live on forever.
