The world is going to hell because of capitalism and the pope has nothing better to do than attacking gays.
Today is Christmas, I didn’t invent it, you didn’t either. Why do we keep traditions in the western world if religious leaders allow themselves to make remarks like this?
Get out of the church while you can. If they change and you care about being religious, then you can still get back in. But people have to make a point. And they have to make it now.
Statements like this kill people in the real world. Every time society faces a real problem, someone in the high ranks has the idea to bring up the gay thing to prevent the population to see what is really going on.
Don’t get played by those in power.

Apart from that, you just have to look at Jamaica. It is described as the probably most homophobic place on earth. (http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1182991,00.html) And because of what? The churches which tell the people gays are not allowed to live and gotta die. All based on the bible (just take a look, it actually is).

I remember reading when Neonazis killed and burnt people in Rostock in 92, most Germans light candles to think about it, you released “hunt down the nazis” with ATR.

wait a minute….I never said “violence is proper” in that interview.
I said that human beings are violent, and one has to think about using violence very carefully because violence can cause more violence and can set off a chain reaction (German government / Red Army Fraction example).
These days emotions run high, religion, economy, politics.
In Germany the neonazis are using violence to scare people, so their shut up. The problem is that in many cities the police doesn’t clearly do enough against that.
Fascist parties like the NPD are getting money from us, the government, the society (from tax), because they are a “legal” party.
People living in these areas of Germany carry the consequences by being exposed to their violence every day. Because the police doesn’t help them, the government doesn’t help them, they help themselves by fighting back against the neonazis. I understand that, I support this action.
I was pointing out in the interview that violence is complex, and when it happens, the solution to the problem is often not an easy one.
Politicians and mainstream media too often tries to provide us with easy answers. (blame artists, videogames, films)
There is an interest in that , because they know better. (weapon laws for example)
I dealt with the “violence” a lot in my music and I know what I’m saying.

Hi Alec,
thank you for your important christmas message! The things the pope said a few days ago did really upset me, as if my existence was responsible for the decline of the civilization. That’s so ridiculous, but almost no one except special interest groups showed their anger. It’s great to see for me that also my favorite musician is saying something against that spoken bullshit, that’s really cool and makes me feel better.
Have a great start into the new year! I’m really looking forward to all the new things from the EYHO-staff, the new mix is great (although I love your current Electro-stuff more) and hopefully I can catch you live sometime in 2009 in Munich again

at heather. first of all he is aleksandr if you want to spell it that way, second maybe some one has to fight. ATR showed that. if some one doesn’t stick 2 fingers or 1 up against the controllers, who will. i agree with an earlier post, that machines shouldn’t control humans, humans should control the machines….

I am a musician who says what he thinks. In capitalism everything becomes a product. Politics, music, philosophy…so please, not that discussion again.
If you want artists to shut up and be “entertainers”, well, then I’m the wrong kind of artist for you.
I can only say that my political opinion got me on the black list of many big festival promoters, the press, most radio….
so if you think we still live in the 60ties when one could make money of politics in music, then you are mistaken.
Apart from that , I find, as a music fan, that music that actually speaks to me, music that I can identify with is the most exciting and “entertaining”…but that’s just a taste thing…

this is an intersting blog! But I guess I have some catching up to do first … on the past 13-14 years or so
