BERLIN IS ON ACID: FRAUNHOFER INSTITUTE IS TESTING POPULATION
Welcome to the “Stimmungsbarometer”!
The project Stimmungsgasometer is about a smiley on a huge screen from which one can read the average mood of the Berlin citizens.
The system allows to read emotions out of random peoples faces. The faces are analyzed by sophisticated software (contributed by the Fraunhofer Institut). The obtained mood data are then stored on a server and processed by the smiley on the screen to visualize the emotions in real-time.

Willkommen zum Stimmungsbarometer! (German)
Auf der Nightscreen am Gasometer Sch?neberg zeigt von 18.10 bis 03.11 ein riesiger Smiley einen durchschnittlichen Stimmungswert der Einwohner Berlins an.
Die Einbindung einer speziellen Software (freundlicherweise vom Fraunhofer Institut zur Verf?gung gestellt) erm?glicht es die jeweilige Stimmung beliebiger Menschen in den Strassen aus ihrem Gesicht abzulesen.
Die Stimmungswerte werden per Internet versandt und ver?ndern das Aussehen des Smiley auf der Fassade in Echtzeit.
Der Smiley passt seinen Gesichtsausdruck somit st?ndig an die Grundstimmung der Berliner an.

we’ve been getting messages, asking if this was for real…YES….the image is a real photo…this is no joke …. they are doing this project….it’s wild
